1. Housing crisis most frequent cause of mental health problems among Quebec psych patients

The housing crisis is driving some people to seek help from psychiatrists, according to a new survey. A group in Quebec said there's "no glimmer of hope" for many people, causing "despair among tenants."


2. Judge threatens to put Trump in jail

Donald Trump has been threatened with imprisonment by the judge overseeing his hush money case. But Justice Merchan said putting the former president in jail is "the last thing I want to do."


3. Lord of the Rings stars pay tribute to King Theoden actor

Tributes have been paid to Lord of the Rings star Bernard Hill after the actor died aged 79. Hill, who played King Theoden in the movie series, has been praised by hobbit actors Elijah Wood, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan and Sean Astin.


4. French bakers set world record for longest baguette

A group of French bakers has embraced a stereotype by producing the world's longest baguette. The Parisian bread, which measured 132.62 metres, dislodged a baguette baked in Italy to claim the record.


5. American and Aussie surfers found dead in Mexico

Three tourists have been found dead in Mexico after they travelled to the country to surf. Two Australians and an American were found dumped in a well after being shot in the head following a suspected carjacking.
